Christmas time in Ferrara is the most beautiful family gift

Christmas is approaching and Ferrara is preparing to enter the Christmas and post-Christmas atmosphere with several news. This year the city will have a special attraction and a particularly varied offer of culture, music, entertainment and events in a breathtaking setting, enhanced by games of lights and sparkling installations.

Here is a first list of events that will take place in the coming weeks:


Gift Day - Theme Christmas Market
from Saturday 18 November 2023 to Sunday 7 January 2024
Numerous stalls selling typical and gastronomic products, books, handicrafts and Christmas gifts. The side in front of Palazzo San Crispino will be characterized by the Christmas Village of the master craftsmen of Cna with high quality products both of typical foods and of artifacts bearing the value of artisanal transformation from idea to creation.. In continuity with the Village, the side towards the square of the Cathedral will host the historic market of the Consortium "Gift Festival" Confesercenti that, for years, cheers adults and children with the offers of traders present with gift ideas, sweets for the Christmas holidays and the classic objects to adorn Christmas trees and cribs of our homes. In the complex are 34 Christmas houses.


Fiera Natalissimo Pets and Care
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 November
At Ferrara Expo 6 thousand square meters of craftsmanship and handmade creations to decorate Christmas, as well as spaces dedicated to families and pets.


Lighting of the illuminations
Saturday 2 of December 
One hundred and thirty kilometres of lights above the city will also be placed in Piazza Municipale a shining star of ten meters while Piazza Ariostea will frame a crib with bright architecture.


Lightening of the tree
Friday 8 of December
Lighting of the tree in Piazza Trento and Trieste decorated with 8 km of stisce led, with simultaneous gospel concert.


Various concerts
including one with an international artist in the Gad district in the frame of the Winter Park at the park Marco Coletta with ice rink, large observation tower, scenic lights, entertainment, dining areas and many attractions for adults and children.                              
Two other live concerts will be held in the old town on 16 and 23 December.


Fire of the Estense Castle
Sunday 31 of December
Waiting for the fireworks show, the animation will be to the rhythm of the music "I want to go back to the 90s" and then after the show, the music will be the protagonist again until the morning.


Gran Gala at the Theatre
Sunday 31 of December
Gala dinner with a view of the imposing Estense Castle at the Ridotto of the Teatro Comunale.

At the Teatro Comunale you can attend several unmissable shows including Tuttorial degli Oblibvion on 27 December; the great ballet with "The Sleeping Beauty of the Russian Classical Ballet" on 29 and 30 December and the musical by Monica Guerritore, with Ginger and Fred, January 5-7.
