Dante's Train
Journey to discover the cities of art visited by Dante Alighieri
Dante's Train is an innovative and evocative experience that will allow travelers to discover and relive the landscapes and cities of art visited by Dante Alighieri during his journey between Florence and Ravenna.
This year the trip also includes a stop in Ferrara, where experienced guides will accompany travelers to discover the historic center of the city.
The journey will take place on board the train "Centoporte", which is a special train, buildt more than a century ago.
The convoy is one of the symbols of the Italian railway locomotion, so much so as to be considered a real jewel in the history of passenger transport.
Towards the end of the nineteenth century the countryside crossed by Dante Alighieri were connected thanks to the inauguration, in 1893, of a new railway, which today connects Faenza to Florence.
The journey on the Centoporte will not only allow visitors to immerse themselves completely in the unspoilt nature, but will offer them the vision of breathtaking and evocative landscapes, characterized by expanses of olive trees, vineyards, wild woods and Romagna's hills full of orchards.
Dante's Train in 2023 will travel on the following dates
