From Friday 27th to Sunday 29th October 2023 returns in Ferrara the Low Cyclist Festival - 7th edition!
"Lucky the last who know how to enjoy life" is the philosophy that for seven years characterizes the event in Ferrara dedicated to cycling-slow, to celebrate those who use roads and cycling to pedal slowly, without particular talent for sport, without time to be respected or primates to be established.
There are those who choose the bicycle for the pleasure of cycling and move freely with an ecological means, without chasing performance, watt and odometer. Who enjoys the two wheels without the anxiety to arrive first, who lives the pleasure of the journey more than the finish, appreciating landscapes, tastes and curiosities met along the paths. Who uses the bike daily, to go to work or to shop, to accompany children to school, to enjoy spaces of their city, in their free time and not, in an ecological and sustainable way and does so asking for safety...
We promise you will find other people who love going slow, like you.
With you, they will create an extraordinary community by bike, united by slowness. Three days of events for cycling lovers, while you will taste traditional products.
The festival starts on Friday 27th October 2023 with the “Slow Cyclist Gran Galà”, which wants to celebrate the former cycling champions and where will talk athletes and reporters, too.
Saturday 28th October 2023, “The slowest bike ride in the world: 5 km in 5 hours” will start in the historic city center, while you will visit the city, taste traditional products and listen to writer's histories. After that you will arrive at Spazio Grisù, where you will “Chat on two wheels” and where you will taste traditional Ferrara's dessert. “The record of the backwards... hour” will close this second day: the participants can try to beat the slowest record.
Finally, Sunday 29st October 2023, the “Granfondo del Merendone” will take place, a tour in Ferrara's countryside to discover estensi's landscapes, going back to Ferrara following the Right Po cycle path.
